Happy Memorial Day ~ some things to share :)

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!! It's been a nice weekend but it went way too fast as usual. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I'm so grateful to all the military men and women who are serving and protecting this great country and to all the veterens who have served so faithfully!

Okay, Week 2 of my weight loss journey is done and I feel awesome. I lost 2 more pounds! But I have to say, the weekends are just soooo hard to keep to healthy eating, especially a holiday weekend. That's one thing I really have to work on. Anyways, I’ve been logging in my food log each day and been eating lots of fruits and veggies. I’ve been looking for some good homemade salad dressings since I can’t stand any of the light dressing except for Hidden Valley Ranch. I picked Creamy Lemon Salad Dressing, once I make it this weekend and try it I’ll report back and post of its good.

I signed up for the 52 Card Pickup class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I’m so excited for this class; its going to be so much fun. I got my deck all ready to go and I completed my first technique today.

It's a clear embossed image and then you put acrylic paint over the image and wipe away the excess paint from the image.
I really love how it turned out.

REMINDER!!!

Saturday randomness....

Happy Saturday! The sun is shining and it’s so beautiful out in NY.
Last Thursday I decided to start Weight Watchers. I’ve wanted to loose weight for so long and it’s about time that I finally start and more importantly, to stick with it. I want to get healthy, that’s the most important thing. Besides my hypothyroidism, I have a history of diabetes in my family, my mom and dad have it and my mom’s mom had it also. I had lost a lot of weight back in 2008 which was from stress due to my marriage breaking up and all that. Now that I’ve gotten better the weight has slowly crawled back on. Every Friday/Saturday I will update here how I’m doing, post any good recipes I come across and products that I love. I think this will be a good way to keep accountable and a great record of my journey, plus hopefully inspire some of you out there too!

I’ve resolved to do this without it costing me an arm and a leg. I’m doing Weight Watchers points all on my own, no meetings or online service. I’ve made a new planner for myself this week and I made a section for a food diary. I also bought a new digital scale which I got on sale at Walgreens for $10.00!

So I weighed in last night and I’m down 2 pounds!!! I’m so excited J I know it’s not much but it’s a good start. With God all things are possible!

Here’s two of my favorite finds this past week:
I never had turkey bacon before. I read that if you put it on a Thomas Everything Bagel thin with low fat veggie cream cheese and lettuce/tomato it’s only 5 points! Well I tried it and it’s so delicious, it actually tastes like regular bacon.

Subway has a new line of breakfast sandwiches. This is the Western Egg & Cheese Muffin Sandwich, its delicious and only 3 points!

I finally got my P12 layout done for April:

And finally, I just had to do it. I’m a really big fan of Farmville, I just love it! I went ahead and created a layout to capture my love of the game :) If anyone wants to be my neighbor just leave me your name on FB and I’ll friend you :)
Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Wednesday!

Hello hello, Happy Wednesday!
Well this past weekend was eventful. On Saturday I had my first craft sale at my local fleamarket. I have to say I didn't sell as much items as I would have liked. I got a lot of nice compliments but not a lot of sales. I don't think I'll be doing anymore flea markets for quite awhile. I had a great locations though, right next to this amazing French baker who sold the most amazing tarts and quiches! My mom and my boys did a good job selling all there old stuff. As you can see one son is shielding himself from the "mommarazzi" and the other son is running away. This is typical behavior when I get my camera out!
At the end of the day I was burnt to a crisp.
You think I would have thought to wear a hat or sunscreen, oh well.
When I got home I still had time to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day at sb.com. I've been wanting to scrap this picture that I took awhile ago and it was the fastest layout I ever threw together for the all day challenge.
I now have a lot of items left over from my sale and I'm slowly putting them up at my new Etsy shop ~ My Sweet Handmades!
Alrighty, have a great week everyone!
