Happy Tuesday.....

Hello everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Mine was nice, I had 5 days off in a row and it was awesome but it went way too fast, as usual :)

I finally finished up my 21 Day Challenge journal and it was really a lot of fun to work on.  Now I'm super excited to start working on my December Daily album tomorrow!!!

So I've been working on some of my handmade christmas gifts and thought I'd share :)
This is an altered wooden frame that I picked up at Michaels.  I used Tim Holtz crackle paint and lots of distress inks.

Candy anyone??? LOL
These are some cute Jolly Rancher candy jars I made for Maxwell's teachers with some jars I got at the Dollar Tree store.
I also made this altered notebook for my girlfriend's daughter.
And finally a little popcorn notebook for Ms. Barbara.

Thanks so much for looking :)

Before I go...

ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas starts tomorrow!  It's one of my favorite things about the holiday season, watching all our favorite holiday programs.  You can click here to print out the downloadable schedule!!!

Fun Monday blog post....

Hiya guys, how’s it going?
So glad it’s a short work week for me ~ woohoo!!!

So I was so happy to finally get started on some of my Christmas handmade gifties this weekend. I got two projects done and I love the way they turned out! I made an altered notebook for my girlfriend’s daughter and a popcorn notebook for Maxwell’s security guard at school. See when Michael was going to that school he did a science project on popcorn. Ms. Barbara started calling him Orville Redenbacher ever since and I always give her popcorn or something popcorn related for Christmas LOL

I also bought some won
derful felt at Michaels and decided to make some felt flowers. I was inspired by the ones that Rhonna Farrer makes, which are too fab! They’re soooooo much fun to make, I want to make some more to put on my pocketbook. Check um out: I also been plugging away at my 21 Day Challenge journal. It’s been so cool to art journal every day, I thought it would be hard to stick to but it hasn’t been at all. Here’s some photo’s of my latest pages:
By the way, the black flower and dashes on Day 14 is a piece of some kind of material that was covering my new toner cartridge at work. You can find the most unusual things to make art with!

And finally... I was so happy to see that my new friend Jade at The Scrap Yard Rose bestowed this fabulous Stylish Blogger Award to moi, how cool!!! Thanks so much Jade! You’re awesome and so is your blog.
By accepting this award I must complete the following tasks:

1) Thank and link back to the person who awarded me.
2) Share 8 things about myself.
3) Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that I have recently discovered.
4) Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards.

Okay, 8 things about myself…

1) I love the south but I’ve never been there LOL I love Civil war
novels and movies (remember North and South?), the fantastic
columned homes, all of it.

2) I love reality TV ~ I’m a junkie I confess!

3) I’m a child of the 80’s ~ Duran Duran posters were plastered on
my walls, the Police were jamming on my Walkman and Atari’s King
Tut video game was my favorite pastime.

4) I love to stay in my pj’s and snuggle in bed on rainy days.

5) Girly girl here ~ I love all things sparkly, rainbows, Hello
Kitty.

6) I’m 41 years old and I seriously don’t feel that age. By the way,
when you’re young you think 40’s/50’s are sooooo old but it’s
totally not LOL

7) Its not officially Christmas until we see Santa at the end of the
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, well, that’s what me and my boys
say.

8) I love collecting owls, they’re my favorite!!! My son Michael
says it’s my “spirit animal” like on Ugly Betty.

Here are 8 blogs that are fairly new/somewhat new to me and they’re all so truly fabulous and inspirational. Check them out, you won’t be sorry :)

1) Leesa: Airplanes in August

2) Carrie: Blume (And check out Carrie’s new blog also, I love it: Our Bubblegum Life

3) Patti: Pattiwest

4) Tara: thepinkcouch

5) Chris: Chrisscraps

6) Leslie: Leslie Ashe

7) Kristy: kitten91303

8) Molly: Molly's Thyroid Journey

And before I go, I just want to thank everyone who comes and visits my blog. It means so much to me :) You’re all the best!

Have a wonderful day!

what's your favorite movie???

Me and my boys love to have family night and one of our favorite things to do is pop in a movie, get tons of snacks and cuddle up. It got me thinking of how many movies I have loved since I was younger that I've introduced to my kids.

My all time favorite movie is Gone With The Wind, I just love it and I recently read the book for the first time which was even better then the movie. I finally got it DVR'd and we all got to watch it together and they all loved it.

Here's some other movies that we've enjoyed together:

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (I'm a huge Bette Davis fan)

Airplane

Trading Places

Gremlins (i *heart* gizmo)

Blazzing Saddles (Mel Brooks is the bomb)

The Burbs

Uncle Buck

Next movie up that I want to share with them is The Sound of Music, I love watching it around the holiday times.

So tell me, what movies do you love that you've shared with family/friends?

tuesday projects to share...

Hello...... Happy Tuesday everyone!
Can you believe next week is Thanksgiving already?
Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday.
When I was younger my parents would cook the turkey dinner and every year we would watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade and right after the parade we would always watch March of the Wooden Soldiers and King Kong.
We're all going out to eat this year but I'm planning to cook a big turkey dinner for Christmas this year, can't wait!
I went to Michaels last weekend with my coupon and finally decided to get a Scotch ATG!
I love love love it, what took me so long to get one LOL
If you don't have one it's worth it and if you get a coupon it's half off!

I've been doing some knitting lately, it's so much fun and I made a cover for my first P12 2011 album. I love the way it turned out, I will have pictures soon for you guys to see.
But I did get a couple of projects done this past weekend that I wanted to share:

a new food log to keep track of my weight watcher points for the day ~ I adore Me Likey Sassafras goodness!

and some more pages from my 21 Day Challenge album!

I'm still stumped for holiday handmade gifts to make. I saw this blog post from Pinky, how cute!!!
Last Christmas I made jelly thumbprint cookies for the first time and my kids went nuts for them, so I may just make them for everyone.

Have a great day!!!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran's Day to all the men and women who proudly serve our great country.
Thank you to you and your families for your sacrifice and service.

If you haven't heard, Dirty Scraps is officially closed.
I'm so sad :(
It was a blessing to be part of such a great design team and to have met so many amazing fellow scrappers.
I wanted to share my last layout that I did for DS, thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!

Happy Monday, projects to share...

Hello again, I'm back for my second post of the day!
How was your weekend???
Mine was great, I got tons and tons of projects done and I felt super productive this weekend.
We had the time change Saturday night and it was so weird, at 5:00 pm it felt like 9:00 pm.
The only thing I don't like is coming home and it being pitch black, it takes a while to get used to that.

So I got two layouts finished for some upcoming Dirty Scraps challenges, will share soon. But I can share some other stuff...
I've started getting some of my handmade Christmas gifts done. So far I've made some gift card holders and I still need to make gifts for Maxwell's teachers. I made these photo Christmas tags for my family members, I thought it would be nice for them to be able to keep their tag.

Next, I made this tag for Joakima, we decided to do our own little tag swap together:

I also got two layouts done for my P12 album.
I've been taking a pic a day with the cell phone camera, hopefully I'll keep up with it for the whole month of November.
And finally, I was watching Heidi Swapp's video on Ustream and Rhonna Farrer was on talking about her 21 Day Challenge. The whole concept is to pick something you want to change and art journal about it for the 3 weeks. At the end hopefully whatever it is you picked will be fulfilled.
Have a wonderful week!

December Daily 2010 album ready to go...

Hello :)
I finally got my December Daily 2010 album finished and ready to use for December. I'm so glad it's done and I love the way it turned out. Now I can't wait to fill it up!

I used Crate Paper Snow Day Collection for the entire album. I based my album on this tutorial over at Sassafras blog here. Hope this inspires all of you to maybe partake in DD this year. This is my third year and I love looking back on my albums each year.
