That's my word for 2011
When a new year starts it's always a great time to get a new jump start on things and a clean fresh start on life! This past weekend I gutted my closet. It was a mess, to put in lightly, and then the door fell off the hinges. Plus my two sons said it looked like the houses on that TV show Hoarders! :o
I took every single item out and started from scratch.
I got rid of four large garbage bags of stuff and I didn't even throw away any clothes!
Now that it's all cleaned out it feels so organized and clean.
That was my most recent goal that I wanted to accomplish and I did it.
And it got me to thinking, I have so many other goals that I would like to accomplish in the upcoming year.
I'm starting by writing a to-do list. It's in no particular order of what I want to get done, just started jotting whatever came to mind. When January rolls in I would love to conguer all my goals for the new year!
Here's what I got so far...
1. Create a new personal email address. I've been wanting to do this for awhile, I'm still on the fence because it's going to be a hassle but we'll see.
2. Organize my email files and folders into categories.
3. Organize my picture folders for the new year. I also want to create an "inspiration" folder to store pictures of things that inspire me online. That was a great idea from Jessica Sprague's Inspiration Everywhere class this month.
4. Weight Watchers PointsPlus. My girlfriend picked up the new kit for me and I'm starting to get familiar with the new points values. My goal is to seriously get back on my weight loss/fitness journey in January. I also want to look for new healthy foods to eat because I tend to eat the same meals all the time and it gets boring and I also want to try new recipes.
5. Project 12 quarterly mini albums. I tried P365 in the past and I even tried taking one picture each day for a month and both didn't work. I can't keep up for some reasons and that's why I love P12 ~ it's just way easier for me. My goal is to make a four (4) seasonal themed mini albums: January to March, April to May, June to August, September to November and then my annual December Daily. I still need to set up a format and all that but it's going to be fun :)
6. Get a new hairstyle! I'm currently growing my hair long and it's going to take awhile to go but I seriously need to resist the urge to cut it. I get bored with things easily so I have to resist the temptation.
7. Get some new makeup and try new techniques. I watched a video awhile ago on how to do a smokey eye and it was amazing. No one ever teaches you how to do make up so this was a good learning tool and I want to watch more and buy some new supplies too.
8. Set up a new budget for 2011 and start a Christmas fund/savings account that I can't take the money out of LOL :)
9. Delve more into hybrid scrapping.
10. Help my son more with his reading and just be there to help him and boost him self esteem.
11. Read my Bible daily and do some kind of bible study each week.
12. Work on my blog more and hopefully find a focus and have some giveaways :)
I'm pretty sure I'll be adding to the list and I'll be posting about how it's all coming along in the new year.
