P12 & Weight Loss Journal to share.....

Hello..... Happy Wednesday!
I'm so happy it's Wednesday today :)
Though I can't keep track on which day it is this week since we had off on Monday LOL

I've noticed a lot of new followers lately and just wanted to say hi and thank you all sooooooo much for following me :)

So I have to tell you guys I've really been enjoying P365 so far.
I think because I'm doing it as more of a photography challenge and not having to get each picture printed and scrapped in an album has really taken a lot of the pressure off.
So I was checking out Bubblegum Life's blog, which I love by the way,
and their Friday prompt was "In Series".
Here's my take on their prompt.  I was walking from work to get the bus home the other night and I was clicking pictures on my cell phone the entire way, trying to get a good shot for my day 18 picture LOL  I love the way all the pictures turned out with a blue hue.

One of my GOALS for 2011 was to do P12 again!
I finally got my January-February-March Mini Album ready!!!!
I had knitted the cover awhile ago and I finally got it decorated.
I love the newsprint leaves, I picked them up at Michaels this past weekend.
I had originally had a paper bag album inside but I didn't like it, so I tore it out.
I added regular cardstock and bound it with twine.
I decided to do each page with a theme.
January is Winter/Snow and February is Valentine/Hearts.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do for March yet.
I'll definately share each page when they're completed.
And this is the inside first page.  I decided to put the title inside instead of on the front of the album.
The filmstrip and camera are rub-ons from the dollar bin at Michaels and I used papers from the DCWV Retro stack.  The left side of the page has a pocket to stick items in there.
The black strip was done with this:
Dymo Embossing Label Maker ~ I love it!!!
I've been dying to get this and finally found it at Walmart after searching all over for it.

And finally I got my Weight Loss Journal started too.
I received the Sassafras Mix and Mend Collection from a christmas swap and I love these papers!
Each month will have a page with my picture, stats and journaling.
I still have to do the my journaling for Jan, he he.

Okay that's it for me for now.
Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!
Hugs, Marlene :)

Project this, project that....

Hiya everyone!
How's it going???  Happy Wednesday!
We got hit with another snow storm last night but thankfully it's not as bad as the last one.
I let the kiddos stay home today, they're both getting spoiled by my mom LOL

I stopped by Duane Reade this morning and picked up this for Max...
Okay, I confess it's not just for Max, it's for me.  I love Cats & Dogs!!!
I can't wait to watch it!!!

Yesterday I made a little Reading Reward Chart for Maxwell.
See he's behind on his reading level for his grade and he has to do a lot of extra reading to catch up.
If he reads each night for extra time I will get him a reward at the end of the month.
He's so excited!  Last night we sat together and read our own books, it was so nice.
I'm reading....
I haven't read a Danielle Steel novel in soooo long, so far I like it a lot.
And Maxwell is reading...
Next we will be reading:
Percy Jackson & the Olympians for Maxwell &
Family Affair for me :)

I wanted to also share my first Project ReStyle project with you all.
If you click the Project ReStyle button on the right, it'll take you to the Flickr group.
There's so many amazing projects there to check out!
Well, I had this denim bag but I didn't like that it was so tall.
So, I folded it down and glued it with fabric glue.  Then I flipped the rim up and glued it down along with the handles so that they didn't flop around.  I sprayed the light denim part with silver Glimmermist and added this amazing lace, I can't remember where I picked it up from.  I finished it off with a pretty lace flower and my owl pin I got for Christmas.
Oh before I go, I want to invite you to some great Flickr groups that I've found this past week!

Project 365 2011
So far I haven't missed a day!

I'm loving this project, you take a self potrait each week for the entire year!

I stumbled across this site from a post on the Two Peas in a Bucket forum.
Cathy Zielske shows how she's lost weight in 2010 and set up a weight loss journal.
I'm working on my own journal as we speak.

The buttons for each group are on the right-hand side.
They will take you directly to the Flickr group.

Okay enjoy the rest of your week everyone :)
Stay warm!
 Hugs, Marlene

Handmade Planner, P365 and more....

Hi everyone ~ Happy New Year!!!
It's 2011 and I'm so excited.  I don't know why exactly, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a good year.
I love that I've set some goals for myself this year and even though some of them may be hard, I'm excited none the less to tackle them.

So anyways, I don't know about you but I seriously have a thing for planners.
I just love them, I'm addicted LOL
I decided awhile ago to make a new planner for myself to carry every day.
This is what I came up with.  I had an old Sara binder from PaperWishes, I believe.
I cut the spine out and covered it with yummy Sassafras Me Likey papers!
I would have loved to really over embellish the front but since it's in my bag everday I couldn't.
For the inside cover I made a little pocket to tuck some papers in.
This is my calendar section.  I searched on Google for calendars and pasted them into MS Word and resized.  You can also check out this site: Ahhh Design for great templates.  I used a lot of her templates for my planner and they're really cool and free!
This is my address and other stuff section.  I used a paper bag as the divider, on the other side it has the flap to tuck papers under.
I also made some envelopes to hold my stamps and receipts.  I also added the other half of the paper bag page, it has a big pocket to hold items.
I really want to encourage you guys to make your own planner.  It's so much fun and you can customize it and make it look pretty.  Please let me know if you do, I would love to check it out!

P365 ~ who's doing it???
I'm definately doing P12, but I'm still gonna try to take a pic each day.
I started a set on Flickr to upload all my pics to.
Even if I don't get to scrap all of them I'll have a nice online album of them.
I got some great shots with my new Polarid, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!
I highly recommend you guys getting one!
Here's my daily shots so far...
 Jan 1st
Jan 2nd - how cute are those 2011 glasses?
Jan 3rd - I took this picture with my HD2 cell phone and the vintage photo app!

I also started back on my Weight Watchers PP program today.
I feel really good about it, especially since I spent the whole month of December eating whatever I wanted.
Stepped on the scale this morning and it wasn't pretty.
I paid for being lazy so know I have to do the work!

Well that's it for me.
Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
Hugs, Marlene

PS: here's the last two pages of my DD2010 album, I'm glad it's finally done LOL
