PS 22 Chorus ROCKS!!!

I'm so proud of the PS 22 Chorus!
They did such an amazing job at the Oscars!
My oldest son Michael was in the chorus when he was in the 5th grade a couple of years ago.

There's Michael!
(first boy right hand bottom corner with red shirt)

My younger son Maxwell is in 4th grade at PS 22 and he's dying to be in chorus next year.  He has Mr. B as his music teacher and he's so awesome!  The nicest guy ever :)

Happy Wednesday sharing...

Hello :)
So how's it going? Everything is great here!
I had a nice three day weekend but it went so fast. Maxwell went to get his stitches removed on Saturday and he did fantastic. He was so proud of himself and I was happy for him. My boys are home this week from school for mid-winter recess also. I really envy stay-at-home moms; they're so blessed to be able to be with their children.
I'm sorry for the super long post, just trying to cram it all in LOL Okay, here we go:
(1) I've been hanging out a lot at TallyScrapper and it's been so much fun.  We started a new Survivor competition and here's my first week's layout:
You had to use blue/tan colors, use recycled scrapbook packaging, and have negative space and 2 staples. Cute huh?

(2) Have you guys head of 30 Days of Lists? I have a little widget on the right side that will take you to the blog. It's starting in March and sounds like such a fun little project.
This is my album; it's actually an index card file folder that I covered with felt. I still have to get my inside pages ready.

(3) Speaking of TallyScrapper, they have some awesome kits to buy. I purchased the March kit on pre-order and just the name alone gets ya... "Lucy...You Got Some Scrappin' To Do" (he he) It has a great retro feel to it!
I made this little mini album with the kit and it's also for one of the challenges there too.  The album covers are 7Gypsies, just love them. I'm planning on doing a mini layout for each month of this year of things I love.

(4) Just wanted to share with you guys that Rhonna Farrer is having a 6 Week Shapeup Challenge over on her blog: (http://rhonnadesigns.blogspot.com/2011/02/6-week-shape-up-week-1.html) I've been doing horrible with my diet and exercise; I totally lost all motivation and have been on an eating binge ~ so I seriously need this!

(5) And finally, my awesome friend Chris has awarded me with this cool blog award!!! Thanks so much Chris! I love her blog by the way and her son Joey is just the cutest little munchkin ever :)
To accept this award I need to pass the award onto another 8 Stylish blogs and list 8 things about myself!
Okay, here's some random stuff from me LOL...
* I *heart* dark chocolate

* I'm obsessed with wood grain (I just ordered a wood grain sticker decal for my cell phone, can't wait for it to come)

* I always said "I can't wait for my kids to get big" but guess what? Now I want them to be stay small :(

* I'm lovin the color yellow lately; it's so bright and cheerful.

* my latest favorite food item is Laughing Cow cheese wedges, they're sooooooo yummy!

* I love getting pedicures

* I love to be organized and yet I still can't find certain items

* I seriously love to re-arrange furniture and items on my desk, etc.

And now, drum roll please... I happily pass this blog award onto:

Well, that's all from me. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and have a wonderful weekend!

what a weekend...

Hi everyone!
Wow what a weekend I had.
On Sunday, we set out to celebrate Maxwell's 10th birthday.
Me and the boys, plus my parents and my aunt were taking Maxwell out to pick out his presents and then to go to dinner.
We were on our way to Gamestop when a big truck hit our van full force.  The car spun around and the glass where Maxwell was sitting blew completely out!
The car is totalled but none of us was seriously injured.
Maxwell got a gash on his head that needed 2 stiches and I got a bump on my head, I don't even remember banging my head.
It could have been much worse and I'm so grateful to God for keeping us all safe and protected!

So I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Yesterday was Maxwell's 10th birthday.
He was such a great trooper getting those stiches done.
I made him a funfetti vanilla cake, the decorations weren't so great but it tasted good LOL

Love ya Maxwell, you're the best!!!!

Have a great week :)

Wednesday project post.....

Hey everyone!
Happy Wednesday!!!

So I wanted to share some of my projects that I’ve been working on lately…

First up, my P12 January 2011 layout…
My goal for P365/P12 is focused more on just getting the picture taken and not scrapping each picture in the traditional P365 style.  I was flipping thru an issue of Scrapbooks Etc. Page Planner magazine and saw a great sketch that uses tiny 1x1 pictures on a layout.  So that was my inspiration and I love that it gives a little glimpse of each picture.

Next I have what I call my Junk Journal...

If you guys are like me and are a frequent Michaels shopper (he he) then you've probably seen those cute Victorian looking journals in the dollar section.  I didn't really dig the cover but I loved the kraft paper pad inside.  I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for and then I decided to use it as a sort of journal/drawing/junk collection, a place to put receipts, tickets, mementos, Instax pictures, etc ~ hence my Junk Journal!  I covered the outside with a piece of denim and made a little pocket and I covered it with difference laces and trims.

Here's two pages that I got done already...
I love my Polaroid shots so much!
By the way, those paint spats are from the Recollections Splat Stamp Set.  My Michaels didn't sell it but I was able to get it on Etsy.  I used some embossing powder on them :)

I added this sweet email that Maxwell sent me from is Ipod Touch, it makes my heart melt :)
So what have you guys been working on???
Have a wonderful rest of the week!!!
Hugs, Marlene

What's up???

Hi everyone (((wave)))
Hope you are all well and doing great!
I’m so behind in blogging, so here’s a little re-cap of what’s been going on in my world:

What I’ve been up to lately:
Well the biggest thing is that Michael and I went to see Tosca at The Metropolitan Opera on January 29!  Michael is a big opera fan, me not so much but I have to say it was fabulous.

After the opera we went to have dinner at Maze by Gordon Ramsey!!!  It was super fancy and delicious.  After watching Hell’s Kitchen all these years we just had to get the risotto, it was soooo good!

I’m watching:
FaceOff is a new reality TV show competition for make-up artists and I love it!!!
Moonstruck! I just recorded it on TIVO and can’t wait to watch it this weekend.  And how appropriate, they go to the opera in the movie and I’ve just been to the opera LOL
I want to buy:
This camera bag from Jo Totes.
I love the turquoise and mustard colors so much!
And a new bento box, how cute is this one:
I’m looking forward:
To celebrating Maxwell’s 10th Birthday next weekend!!!
My valentine baby is hitting the double digits, I can't believe it.

Also, I tried out for the Sassafras design team.
I just did it for fun and because they’re my favorite scrappy company so we’ll see what happens.

I’m loving:
BBQ Popchips ~ cannot get enough of these!

I love these designs and I’ve had so much fun lately making some cute digi layouts.
Head on over to the blog, there’s a free little kit available!!!

I'm working on
Tons of stuff LOL  A new art journal, P12, digital layouts, a junk journal.  I’ll be back next week to share pics.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay nice and warm if you’re experiencing all this snow that we’ve been getting
Hugs, Marlene
