This crafty girl is getting healthy!

Week 2 of the Crafty Girls Get Healthy 8 Week Challenge is underway and so far I'm doing pretty good.  As you may remember, I started my own personal challenge in January and since then I've lost 10 pounds!!!For me this process is slow going but that's okay.  I'm not looking to lose a ton of weight quickly, the slower the better.  I'm also so happy to have the challenge and all the girls that have joined with Val and I.  It's so great to have friends who are going thru the same issues and to learn and inspire each other is awesome.

These are my first two pages of my March section in my Weight Loss SMASH journal.  I love this geometric photo art project on Elsie Larson's blog and my friend Val's awesome take on it too, I've been wanting to do it for so long.  I thought it would be a great background to add my goal card for this challenge.  On the right hand page I cut out the letters free hand and added them on pop-dots, along with my pledge card.  On the bottom of the page I changed the title of the pie chart to How I Will Meet My Goal, pretty cute I think.

I've been eating really healthy, I cut out snacking at night and I actually really look forward to exercising at night.  Who knew I would ever admit that LOL  And I look back at all the times that I tried to lose weight and failed.  But now I don't look at it as failing, I look at it as stepping stones.  Sometimes these experiences prepare you for when you are actually in a place in your life that you can do it.

Please stop by the Crafty Girls Get Healthy blog and Facebook page.
It's never too late to sign up and participate.  We'd love to have you!

PL 2012 Week 12

Hello and Happy Tuesday.  I hope you all had a great weekend, mine was pretty good.  I didn't get much scrapping done besides my PL layout.  For some reason I just didn't feel like it.  I hate when that happens, you look forward to that day you can sit and be creative and then you get the chance and nothing happens LOL  Well, I was so happy to find this at Michaels on Sunday:

DCWV SNAPSHOT STACK!!!
OMG this is by far one of my most absolute favorite sets of papers I've ever seen.  Tons of camera images and polariods, I can't wait to use these on my PL layouts!!!  I've been hunting this down for weeks.  I almost didn't find it, they had them at the end of an aisle on the bottom shelf.

Anyways, I wanted to share my latest layout for Project Life.

For this week I added extra elements on top of the page with washi tape.  The first is the pink hambly transparency that says Just Do It and the second is a party invitation for Maxwell's friend's party that he went to on Saturday.  I made it so that both flip open.

I loved this pink tree that was in front of the Christmas Tree Shop.  When I went back on Sunday the leaves where all shrivaled up which is sad.  I added my pledge for the Crafty Girls Get Healthy challenge that started on Monday, you guys should come check out the blog by the way!  I love the heart speech bubble that I found on Pinterest and the little polariod camera too.  I also love the little blue typewriter, that was from one of those quote pictures on Pinterest, I just cut it out and put some pop dots behind it.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!!!

What I'm loving right now...

I love these pretty pink trees, they're so beautiful.  It's so nice to see the leaves budding on the trees and the pretty flowers sprouting up.

My kids were playing Draw Something and once I started I was hooked.  It's so fun, you get 3 words and you pick one to draw so your friend can guess.

I really got into The River this season.  It's just the right amount of scrary for me, since I'm not into horror stuff at all.  Plus it keeps me occupied until Revenge comes back LOL

I've been seeing these bright colored pants in almost every store I go and I love them.  I would really love the green pair, I'm going to pick up a pair when I lose some more weight.

These are so yummy and they make such a great snack.  Best part is they're only 50 calories!

April Photo-a-Day from Fatmumslim.  This is going to be my special project for April and I'm going make a collage of all my pictures to add into my Project Life album.  My camera is going to be working overtime.

Is there anything that you're loving right now?
I'd love to know, leave a comment!

Project Life Week 11

I can't believe that March is almost over soon and I'm on week 11 of PL.  For this week's layout I picked up these 4x4 8.5 x 11 page protectors by Martha Stewart at Staples.  I had ordered some scrappy supplies from A Cherry On Top, let me tell you I got that box so fast.  I think I ordered on a Monday and I got it by Friday.  I was shocked at how fast it came!

I added this cute Daylight Savings Time comic on the upper left hand corner layout with a Hambly background.  The flower is a foldie from Sassafras.  I also added in a business card from the restaurant we ate at.  The chevron paper and Love Love diecut is Dear Lizzie {love that line}.

I decided not to show the other side because I hate the way it turned out LOL  I really need to fix it up a bit.  I'm having trouble with how to put journaling in with my own handwriting.  I write so big and it never seems like I have enough room.

What's in my bag...

Hi everyone, hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  Mine was pretty good, except for Saturday morning.  I had to go for an MRI of my shoulder and it was horrible.  I don't like being in confined spaces and being in that tube was not fun.  I'm just glad I made it thru and it's over with, just have to wait on the results.

So I've been in search on a new bag that is light and I can wear on my arm since I can't put any of my other bags on my shoulder.  I scored this awesome LeSportSac bag on clearance for $36 at Macy's yesterday.  Here's a look inside my bag:

(1) Pink polka dot make up bag
(2) Tissue pack
(3) Wallet
(4) Miscellaneous stuff bag {medicine, safety pins, anti-bac lotion}
(5) Eyeglasses
(6) Notebook {love this Paul Frank one from Target}
(7) Kindle {isn't this such a cute case?}
(8) Vitamins
(9) Work ID/Metrocard case and headphones
(10) Cell Phone {Samsung Galaxy S2}
(11) Hand Lotion {pumpkin scent from Bath & Body Works}
(12) Keys
(13) Big Red gum

today 3.16.12

i am currently...

Listening: to my favorite song playlist, I recently downloaded some songs from the Android Market.  Canned Heat by Jamiroquai, Feel Good by Gorillaz and Golden Slumbers (Medley) by Paul McCartney are some of my favs right now.

Eating: I had 2 packs of Quaker Chocolate Chip Oatmeal for lunch today.  I wasn't that hungry so I decided to have that.  I've been doing really good with my healthy eating this week, no fattening snacks and lots of exercise.

Drinking: I've been drinking a lot of cappuccino's at night.  I have the K-cups from Gloria Jeans Coffee and I've been adding a little bit of Bailey's Irish Cream coffee creamer to it - yum!

Wearing: my black skinny jeans, artsy pink shirt and glass heart pendant.

Feeling: pretty proud of myself.  I think I've finally gotten in a good place as far as my diet and healthy and I'm so excited to see the changes.

Weather: it's been so beautiful here in NY this week - in the 60's all week.  Today is a little wet and cloudy but it's going to clear up soon.

Wanting: hmmmm, all my scrapbook goodies to come in the mail!  I did a massive cleanup of my supply and decided to buy some new CHA items from stopandscrap.com.  I orders some new Amy Tan, Dear Lizzie, October Afternoon 9 to 5, Smash, Studio Calico {I can go on and on, I went a little overboard} LOL

Needing: some new summer sandles.  I have two pairs that I really want, I'm hoping they still have them at the store.

Thinking: about all the projects that I have to get done soon.  So much to do and so little time as they say.

Enjoying: Life in general, it's way to short not to :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!!  Happy St. Paddy's Day too :)

PL 2012 Weeks 9 and 10

Today I want to share with your my latest Project Life pages.  These are pretty much all digital and very basic because I didn't have a lot of time to devote to them, but I like the way they turned out.

Oh how I wish I had a Silhouette Cameo {maybe one day}.  So when I saw this great technique from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer to make your own handmade cut out speech bubbles, I was so excited to try it out.  I couldn't find my exacto knife so I used my scissors and the cuts didn't come out that clean, plus it being so small in size didn't help either.  I really want to try this again in a bigger size for one of my future pages.

This is my week 10 layout, again nothing super fancy.  I used the Splendid mini digi kit by Sara Schmutz and other digital elements.  Thanks for taking a look, I know seeing all these PL pages can get boring to look at after awhile.

30 Days of Lists {Days 1 to 6}

Hi everyone.  Happy Tuesday!!!  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Before I share my 30 Days of Lists, I wanted to remind you all that you can still sign up for our new Crafty Girls Get Healthy 8 week challenge here:  http://myspotofsunshine.blogspot.com/2012/03/brand-new-challenge.html.  Val and I are working hard to get everything up and running, we'll post more details soon.  We're both sooooooo excited and would love to have you all join!

Okay, so I decided to do 30 Days of Lists again this March.  I signed up for the round back in September and never finished, which made me sad.  I decided to get my album done way ahead of time so that everything was ready to start.  I was a little behind but I finally got caught up today.  It's really a lot of fun to keep lists, especially when it's fun and clever topics.

This is my cover, I used a lot of washi tape to make some flags down the side.  The cover is just plain kraft cardstock and I sewed in all the pages.
